Overview
Founded in 1950 by a Chinese Civil War veteran, Lao Dong Beef Noodle rose to fame after winning the 2006 Taipei International Beef Noodle Festival. It has since become one of Taiwan’s popular beef noodle brands, with 10 locations across Taipei. The brand also has a location in Terminal 2 at Taoyuan International Airport. For this visit, however, I headed to the original location where it all began.

Sean’s Review

1st visit :
July 22nd, 2026 : beef noodles soup or green bean noodles with tendon and meat + Red bean cake
The tomato-based broth hits all the right notes — mellow, mild, and smooth. The noodles taste fresh, releasing a subtle wheaty aroma with every chewy bite, while both the beef and tendon are braised until melt-in-your-mouth tender.
Unfortunately, the red bean cake was disappointing — limp, old, and seemingly left over from the day before
