If you are looking for a decent yet inexpensive shabu-shabu hot pot experience. This hot pot restaurant is right for you. Chien Tu Hot Pot is a popular, long-running Taiwanese budget-friendly shabu-shabu chain with nearly 30 years of history. Known for its signature individual kelp broth hot pot sets and self-serviced all-you-can eat ice cream, it has locations widely spread across Taiwan, including multiple locations throughout the entire Taipei Taipei.
To cater to foreign visitors, the hot pot restaurant uses the digital QR code ordering system. With the English menu available digitally, even foreign visitors can easily order a hot pot set they like.

When ordering, diners can choose between Set A and Set B for their individual hot pot. Set A includes a larger portion of vegetables, while Set B comes with a larger portion of meat. The restaurant also offers a wide variety of meat sets, including pork, beef, lamb, chicken, and seafood. My personal favorite is the Lamb Set B.
Beyond the standard hot pot sets, the restaurant also offers a selection of beverages such as black tea, coke, milk tea, smoothie, etc. In my opinion, the highlight is definitely the all-you-can-eat ice cream bar. In addition to several scoop-able ice cream flavors, there’s also a self-service soft-serve ice cream machine. For me, the most enjoyable part of eating here is making your own soft-serve ice cream.
