Introduction :
Jia Ba Beef Noodle is a long-running neighborhood beef noodle shop by MRT Jiangzicui Station in Banqiao, New Taipei City. Rather than catering primarily to tourists, it has built a loyal local following by serving generous portions of Taiwanese beef noodles at affordable prices.
What makes the restaurant stand out is its emphasis on customization :
- Three broth options : Diners can choose from red-braised (紅燒), clear broth (清燉), or combination broth (混湯), allowing you to experience different styles of Taiwanese beef noodle soup on the same menu.
- Wide variety of beef cuts : In addition to the classic beef noodles, the shop gives diners a variety of beef part choices depending on their preferred texture : beef tendon, beef tripe, mixed beef offal, and half tendon, half beef noodles.

This beef noodle shop is just around the corner from where I live, and I’ve been a regular here for years. Although it’s tucked away in a quiet residential neighborhood rather than a busy commercial district, the restaurant is always packed around lunchtime.
The beef noodles are both affordable and satisfying, and the broth is exceptionally clean and rich in flavor. Best of all, a bowl costs only around NT$170 — a price that’s almost impossible to find in Taipei these days. My personal favorite is the red-braised broth, which is deeply flavorful and aromatic, and the generous portions of beef and toppings make it an outstanding value.
