Shun Chen Bakery (Shuanglian)|Taiwanese Bakery

Overview

Shun Chen Bakery (Shuanglian) (順成蛋糕) is a longtime Taiwanese bakery shop near MRT Shuanglian. Taiwanese pastry shops typically combine Western-style cakes and breads with traditional Chinese and Taiwanese pastries, especially treats commonly bought for festivals and gifts. The brand now has more than 5 locations across Taipei.

Shun Chen Bakery was founded in Taipei in 1965, giving the brand more than 60 years of history. The bakery emphasizes fresh, freshly made products and offers a wide selection of small pastries, including moon cakes, pineapple cakes, and taro mochi pastries. It is also known for cakes and regularly makes birthday cakes, including larger sizes available by advance order.

One thing I enjoy about visiting Shun Chen Bakery is that the selection changes from day to day. Different pastries appear on the shelves depending on the day of the week, and sometimes you’ll find something you never expected. Walking into Shun Chen Bakery can feel a little like going on a treasure hunt.

Sean’s Review

This is my favorite from the shop — Rose, Raisin & Walnut Cream Cheese

1st visit :

July 1st, 2026 : Rose, Raisin & Walnut Cream Cheese

This is my favorite bread at this bakery, and I buy it every time I visit. The outer layer is quite dense and firm, while the cheese inside has a slight sweetness. The dried cranberries add a tart flavor, creating a really satisfying sweet-and-sour combination. Most importantly, this is one of the larger breads sold at the bakery, so it is quite filling.

I honestly had no idea what this was. I saw it sitting by the counter right after it had come out of the oven, so I decided to buy one. This is exactly why I enjoy coming to this bakery. They bake different things every day, so you never know what kind of surprise you might find.
