A bowl of spicy soup with assorted vegetables, including cabbage, carrots, and baby corn, along with pieces of meat, garnished with chopped green onions.

Sichuan Green Pepper Hot Pot

Since Taiwanese food generally tends to be milder, if you genuinely enjoy spicy food, I recommend going for the highest spice level

Each main dish comes with a side. I chose Hot and sour glass noodles

The shop lets you choose both the spice level and the level of Sichuan peppercorn numbness separately. Many Sichuan restaurants in Taiwan make their food very spicy but not particularly numbing so the strong numbing sensation here really impressed me.

The ingredients in the hot pot itself were fairly ordinary, but the broth was incredibly numbing and very satisfying. The Sichuan peppercorn flavor really stood out and made the entire bowl much more enjoyable.
